Massage Therapy - Admission Requirements
All applicants must provide documentation of successful completion of the following requirements, as applicable:
For Applicants, 18 of age but below 19 of age
Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or a High School Diploma from other Canadian Provinces, Territories, or the United States of America (USA).
For Applicants, 19 years of age and over
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
- Equivalents for OSSD admission purposes can include:
- High School Diploma from other Canadian Provinces, Territories, or USA.
- An official transcript, diploma, or certificate from another country assessed at OSSD level by a recognized education/credential evaluation center.
- Post-secondary Diploma or degree from Colleges or Universities in Canada or the USA.
- Non-Canadian or Non-USA post-secondary diploma and degree formally evaluated by a recognized education/credential evaluation center.
- Any educational credential or certification from Canadian or USA formal learning institutions accepted by an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology for entry to a post-secondary program.
For Mature Students
Applicants must be 19 years of age and over.
- If an applicant does not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or its equivalent, they are required to take the Wonderlic Cognitive Skills Assessment. Additionally, if English is not their first language or they have not completed at least three full years of high school education in English, their English proficiency must be assessed.
- During the interview process, applicants must demonstrate and pass the necessary language and cognitive abilities to successfully complete the program. They must meet one of the approved English proficiency requirements and successfully complete the required cognitive achievement assessments or evaluations.

- Require evaluating for Listening component from CELT with a minimum score of 70%.

Wonderlic Cognitive Test
- Minimum scores on SLE of 15 or WBST-v of 365.
- Wonderlic Cognitive Skills Test does not fulfill the language proficiency requirement for admission into the Massage Therapy Program. This assessment is solely intended to evaluate cognitive skills for mature students who do not hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or its equivalent. It also applies to individuals whose first and primary language is English or French but lack an OSSD or equivalent, as well as those who have completed at least three years of high school education in Canada or another English-speaking country but do not possess an OSSD or equivalent.

Successful completion of a recognized Ontario's Diploma II post-secondary adult learning or education program, or an equivalent qualification from other Canadian provinces, territories, or the United States.

Passing a College or University Level English Course.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT)
- Minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (listening, speaking, writing, and reading).

International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no other component score less than 6.0.

Michener English Language Assessment (MELA)
- Minimum overall band score of 7.5 with no other component score less than 7.0.

Completion of College’s English as a Second Language courses
- Complete an internal English Language Proficiency Course, in additional to passing all courses in this English language program, also culminating in a final in-person assessment that includes:
- Writing Assessment - A 250-word essay evaluating academic writing, coherence, grammar, and vocabulary.
- Reading Comprehension Test - A passage with comprehension and critical-thinking questions.
- Listening and Speaking Assessment - Conducted through three role-play scenarios designed to evaluate pronunciation, fluency, comprehension, and professional communication skills in real-life contexts.
- Complete an internal English Language Proficiency Course, in additional to passing all courses in this English language program, also culminating in a final in-person assessment that includes:
Additional Requirements for All Applicants
- Applicants without a minimum of one Grade 11 or Grade 12 high school Human Science course or equivalents must complete an Introductory Health Science Workshop and English for Health Science and Medical Terminology Courses designed for applicants to the Massage Therapy program within the first 30 days of the program.
- All applicants must submit documentation or formal written notices or references that they have undertaken the following procedures:
- Completion of a confidential Entry Immunization Form, which includes proof of immunization status for Hepatitis B and a physician's interpretation of results. Results of mandatory TB testing and a physician's interpretation of results.
- Vulnerable Sector Check within the last six months.
