Massage Therapy - Admission Requirements
All applicants must provide documentation of successful completion of the following requirements, as applicable:
For Applicants, 18 of age but below 19 of age
Must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or a High School Diploma fromother Canadian Provinces, Territories, or the United States of America (USA).
For Applicants, 19 years of age and over
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
- Equivalents for OSSD admission purposes can include:
- High School Diploma from other Canadian Provinces, Territories, or USA.
- An official transcript, diploma, or certificate from another country assessed at OSSDlevel by a recognized education/credential evaluation center.
- Postsecondary Diploma or degree from Colleges or Universities in Canada or theUSA.
- Non-Canadian or Non-USA postsecondary diploma and degree formally evaluatedby a recognized education/credential evaluation center.
- Any educational credential or certification from Canadian or USA formal learninginstitutions accepted by an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology forentry to a postsecondary program.
For Mature Students
Applicants must be 19 years of age and over.
- If the applicant does not have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, andEnglish is not their first language, their English Proficiency must be assessed.
- Applicants must demonstrate during the interview process that they have the language andcognitive abilities necessary to complete the program. They must satisfy one of thefollowing English Proficiency and Achievement Surveys or Evaluations

CAST Level 3 Health Science and Listening Component Evaluation from CELT
- Reading:
- Test 1 Vocabulary: Minimum Percentile 56 (5), Actual Score 67%
- Test 2 Comprehension: Minimum Percentile 41 (5), Actual Score 67%
- Language:
- Test 3 Language Mechanics: Minimum Percentile 54 (5), Actual Score 73%
- Test 4 Language Expression: Minimum Percentile 41 (5), Actual Score 72%
- Mathematics:
- Test 5 Mathematics Computation: Minimum Percentile 71 (6), Actual Score 73%
- Test 6 Mathematics Concepts and Applications: Minimum Percentile 76 (6), Actual Score 73%
- Require evaluating for Listening component from CELT with a minimum score of 70%.
- Reading:

- Note: Not required if minimum requirements of CAST Reading and Language Tests are attained.

Wonderlic Cognitive Test
- Minimum scores on SLE of 15 or WBST-v of 365.
- Applicant must pass the interview process with the College Admission Director. If the applicant did not pass the interview process, they may be required to take CAST or CELT Evaluation with the minimum scores stated in (1) and (2).

Successful Completion of Ontario Adult Learning / Education or equivalents from other Canadian Provinces, Territories, or the USA.

Passing a College or University Level English Course.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT)
- Minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (listening, speaking, writing, and reading).

International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no other component score less than 6.0.

Michener English Language Assessment (MELA)
- Minimum overall band score of 7.5 with no other component score less than 7.0.

Canadian Standardized English Proficiency Test (CanTest)
- Minimum overall band score of 4 with no other component score less than 3.5.

Completion of College’s English as a Second Language courses
- Minimum 100 training hours designed for applicants to the College’s Massage Therapy program if the applicant did not achieve any of the above benchmarks but achieved 85% of the required benchmarks.
Additional Requirements for All Applicants
- Applicants without a minimum of one Grade 11 or Grade 12 high school Human Science course or equivalents must complete an Introductory Health Science Workshop and English for Health Science and Medical Terminology Courses designed for applicants to the Massage Therapy program within the first 30 days of the program.
- All applicants must submit documentation or formal written notices or references that they have undertaken the following procedures:
- Completion of a confidential Entry Immunization Form, which includes proof of immunization status for Hepatitis B and a physician's interpretation of results. Results of mandatory TB testing and a physician's interpretation of results.
